Went to the ALFF Industry Mixer last night. A lot of visitors from Dawson, some who say the Dawson film festival is better than this one, because when you get a hundred people to a film in Dawson, that's about 8% of the whole town at the movies.
On the television at the bar was playing Luc Bourdon's Memories of Angels, a film about Montreal and another NFB production. Damn you NFB, with your easy-to-use website, for producing all those beautiful and interesting films!
David Hamilton, producer of Deepa Mehta's Heaven on Earth was at the mixer. So were some of the organizers. As was a guy who looked a very much like George Lucas. Unfortunately, I did not meet this Lucas man.
