Brilliant Jerome! Good to see

Brilliant Jerome! Good to see the fruits of your writing on those cold dark winter nights. Congratulations on such a well crafted thought provoking and tender story.

Loved this story. So much there that isn't said. Like a jig saw puzzle with pieces missing, we know the shape of what is left unsaid.

This is a truly haunting

This is a truly haunting story. How can Shelly hurt, then heal, when her co-workers care more about Brutus' feelings than hers? "Everyone wants Pete" ~ that's what will stay with me long after I have read this. Brilliant, Jerome!

This is a clever, touching

This is a clever, touching story of two break ups, two hearts broken by Pete, the mustached policeman: Shelly's and the Brutus'. In only a few paragraphs we learn enough to imagine what life had been like before Pete left, and we clearly see both Shelly and Brutus reduced to begging Pete to come back, gorilla style, and all too humanly.
