Juxtsuppose

Mandelbrot

My dog-eared copy of Juxtsuppose, a zine "conceived and coordinated by Billy Rueben and Brad Y" (available at Box 37 Parkgate, N. Vancouver V7H 2Y8) represents the best two bucks I've spent all year. These guys have a great sense of humour and must be pretty young because no one very old would have the energy for the labour of reading, gluesticking and outright layout that has gone into the thing. Terrific cut-up pages taken from a wide range of mind-numbing publications, wonderful cartoons by Brad Y, and some very crisp original writing. Includes a balloon with air in it tied on a string, a personal post-it note, a Hello My Name Is name tag, and a page from a mass-market paperback suitably censored in black felt pen. The perfect bathroom read.
