Geist a Bellweather of Talent

Not only emerging, but an emerging voice! Not Hemingway, but with his succinctness. Not King, but with his down-to-earth voice. Not Carver, but with his in-weaved meaning. Murphy is something more. His is a strong voice. Here's looking forward to more Murphy!

Tim Murphy

Great choice for your emerging writer this month! I know this guy--he writes GREAT short stories, reminds me of Raymond Carver mixed with Alistair MacLeod. This might be his first publication, but it sure won't be his last. Count on it. Good for you, Geist, giving him a leg up.

Does the phrase centre around, as in “the conversation centred around issues of freedom,” bug anyone but me? A centre is a fixed spot, and other stuff moves around it, right?
