Hope in Shadows: Stories and Photographs of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, by Brad Cran and Gillian Jerome, pub­lished by Arsenal Pulp Press, has won the City of Vancouver Book Award. Congratulations go out to all those involved in the project. Geist 68 fea­tured the story Potluck Cafe by Helen Hill, which was from the collection.
