welcome to phototaxis.ca, a repository of journal entries and photographs and an archive of articles and speeches written by its proprietor, who also operates a pinhole camera and writes about photography under a pseudonym. phototaxis (which derives from the Greek) is defined in medical dictionaries as a motor response to light, hence the sneezing.
STEPHEN OSBORNE is the editor of Geist and author of Ice & Fire: Dispatches from the New World. His CV is available as a PDF.
MANDELBROT is a photographer who writes many of the In Camera columns for Geist. He was invented in 1990. His essay on Slow Photography is available at Geist.
