Last night I attended my last Vancouver International Fringe Festival show, The Power of Ignorance performed by Chris Gibbs. Perhaps I'm susceptible to motivational talks because I really think the philosophy of The Power of Ignorance is only half crazy. "Don't know" truly is the opposite of "know" and writers Chris Gibbs and TJ Dawe were on to something when they said that we are constrained by knowing too much. I have also been using the "igmantra" whereby one silences the knowing voices in their head by breathing out "duuuuh." Try it, it works! The show was hilarious and while it was about 20 minutes too long, it was well worth it. If you're bummed about missing this show, the creators have published a book called The Power of Ignorance: 14 Steps to Using Your Ignorance which you can order on their website.
