It's the first time artist Thomas Cannell has seen his latest carving Thunder standing up. Since May he has been working on this piece but only ever sees it lying down until it's actually installed. Tuesday morning's weather was perfect for watching this impressive art piece go up outside the Wesbrook Mall entrance to the new UBC Thunderbird Arena, where several of our upcoming Winter Olympics events will be held.
