The No Tankers Loonie Project is raising awareness that the BC government is contemplating ending the ban on oil tanker traffic along our Pacific coast (just in time for the BC election), and this is why I perked up my ears when CBC’s Eleanor Wachtel, while interviewing Australian political satirist John Clarke, played a clip from a hilarious mock interview that played on TV in 1989, following a large oil spill off the Australian coast. The clip is called "The Front Fell Off."
An interesting take on the meaning of the word "environment," and one that matches the short-sightedness of the current BC government.
The No Tankers Loonie Project is distributing a cling decal that, when applied to our loonie, turns both the loon and the water black.
You can get decals from Geist when you buy a sub.
