If you’ve got a difficult task ahead of you and you want to put it into perspective, listen to BBC Outlook (available on CBC Radio from 1 am at 3 am in Vancouver) to hear an interview with Carlotta Walls LaNier, one nine black teenagers called the Little Rock Nine, who, in 1957, braved angry rock-throwing mobs in order to integrate an all-white high school.

BBC Outlook is one of the programs that is broadcast by CBC’s Radio Overnight, a favourite of many insomniacs. It won’t cure you but it makes the middle of the night a lot more interesting.
