Kate Braid


Kate Braid has authored many books of non-fiction and award-winning poetry including Inward to the Bones: Georgia O’Keeffe’s Journey with Emily Carr (Polestar, 2000), which won the Vancity Book Prize. Braid has taught creative writing at UBC, SFU and Malaspina University-College. She currently lives in Burnaby.

Why do you always write “such as” instead of the easier, quicker and more down-to-earth “like,” in a phrase with one or more examples?
