Christine Lai’s debut novel, Landscapes, is published by Doubleday Canada (May2023), and Two Dollar Radio in the United States (September 2023). Landscapes was previously shortlisted for the inaugural Novel Prize. Christine holds a PhD in English Literature from University College London. Christine began work on this essay as part of her residency at Geist.
