Larry Loyie


Larry Loyie is an award-winning Cree author. He and his partner, Constance Brissenden, have worked together for twenty years. In 1993, they founded Living Traditions Writers Group (firstnationswriter.com) to encourage writing in Aboriginal and other communities. Their recent projects include Loyie's Goodbye Buffalo Bay (Theytus Books) and Brissenden's Vancouver: A Pictorial Celebration (Sterling).

For four decades, Jay Powell and Vickie Jensen helped to revive forgotten languages for many Aboriginal groups along the coast of the Pacific Northwest. Read their story here. Read more
