Fringe Day Seven

Carrie Villeneuve

I didn't see a show Wednesday. And it rained. It was a double grey day.

On the upside, the boys from Wagabondi Ho! madthe Island. They drove off in the van after their last show Saturday night, and were absent all day Sunday. I finally had to radio Dispatch Sunday afternoon and ask for an update, since people were looking for them, and the van had broken down somewhere in the real world. They got back ok, but they had to spend their first two days of performance earnings to do it.

I thought it might end up being an early night after closing Performance Works but when I got to the Bar, there were people in it, other than the usual crew. Partly responsible for the crowd was Anna B. and her infectious multilingual performance--she led everyone in a Portuguese sing-a-long which of course everyone knew the words to; had Fringe Executive Director David Jordan on stage to sing in Spanish to commemorate Mexico's Independence Day, and accompanied Naomi Steinberg from Jullanar of the Sea as she told a Persian fairytale. One week down, and full steam ahead.
