Jackpine Sonnet Contest: The Longlist

Geist editors have chosen 10 finalists for the first Jackpine Sonnet Contest.

Our thanks to the many writers who tried out this all-Canadian poetry form and entered the results in the contest. The formal freedom of the Jackpine sonnet allowed for some interesting poetry that Milton Acorn would have been delighted to see!

Let us know what you think of the sonnets, and feel free to offer your opinion of which one should take First Prize. Stay tuned for news on the winners!
