Ian Paterson was born and raised in Brantford, Ontario, and earned an honours degree in art history from Trinity College, University of Toronto. He lives in Paris, where he has been a professor of drawing at Parsons School of Design for twenty years. He has had several solo exhibitions. The photographs published in “Close Your Eyes and Think of Home” (Geist 49) were part of “Home”, an exhibition mounted by the Drabinsky Gallery in Toronto in May 2002.
