BC Book Prizes Nominees

Congratulations to Geist contributors Anakana Schofield, Luanne Armstrong, George Bowering, Evelyn Lau, Patricia Young, Caroline Adderson and Daniel Francis on being shortlisted for the 2013 BC Book Prizes.

Schofield's Malarky is nominated in the fiction category.

Armstrong's The Light Through the Trees and Bowering's Pinboy are finalists in non-fiction.

Lau's A Grain of Rice and Young's Night-Eater are nominees in the poetry section.

Adderson's Middle of Nowhere is a finalist for children's lit.

Francis's Trucking in British Columbia is nominated for the Booksellers' Choice Award.

Established in 1985, the BC Book Prizes celebrate the achievements of British Columbia writers and publishers.

The full list of nominees can be found here. Winners will be announced on Saturday, May 4, 2013.

VIFF 2024: Blink

Blink is a documentary film from National Geographic, which follows a Montreal family with four children, three of whom have retinitis pigmentosa, a genetic condition causing gradual loss of vision and probable blindness. They decide to set out on a trip around the world, in order to fill their children’s visual memories, so that they can at least recall the world and its wonders.
