Dragonboat

THE EDITORS

Here on the west coast, for our fresh air and exercise we paddle in dragonboats. These boats hold up to twenty paddlers. At the end of one practise, the steersman broke out in song—“Barrett’s Privateers.” To his amazement, half the boat joined in—at least on the chorus. It was a great Canadian moment, paddling in a Chinese canoe, singing a Stan Rogers song.
