Hanging around at the Olympics

As we got closer to Robson and Granville, the crowd got thicker: everyone, including ourselves, seemed to be happy to just be there, in the thick of the people, not doing anything in particular. My friend said it felt "just like the Folk Festival but with no purpose."

Oh, and they stuck one of those ContainRs (which they'd updated with a couple of heaters, thank god) down there to keep the cauldron company, but short, sometimes weird, films about dance didn't seem to interest the Thursday night crowd much.

VIFF 2024: Blink

Blink is a documentary film from National Geographic, which follows a Montreal family with four children, three of whom have retinitis pigmentosa, a genetic condition causing gradual loss of vision and probable blindness. They decide to set out on a trip around the world, in order to fill their children’s visual memories, so that they can at least recall the world and its wonders.
