Permission from Mom

THE EDITORS

I was born and raised in B.C. and went to Newfoundland to teach music, taking my family with me. While there I learned most of what I know about Stan Rogers and decided I would like to present some of the tunes to elementary and secondary kids. I needed to arrange recorders for them and Orff instruments and called Stan’s mom for permission. She was so neat. She gave permission and started writing about Stan and how he had felt about this, and her family and how Garnet was having a writing block, etc. It was like talking to a close friend.
