Random Acts of Poetry 1: “Forgetfulness” by Billy Collins

In honour of the 7th annual Random Acts of Poetry which is going on this week, I'm going to post a poem a day.

A friend emailed me "Forgetfulness" by Billy Collins several years ago after another conversation about our current favourite books, of which we could remember neither titles nor authors. Collins was the Poet Laureate of the US for a couple of years and I heard him read at the Vancouver Reader's and Writer's Festival. He's a funny guy.

Read his poem here and DON'T FORGET to let me know what you think of it.

Now, is a poem a day supposed to keep something away?
