Stan and His Girls

THE EDITORS

I went to public school with Stan at Tapleytown Public School on Mud Street, Stoney Creek. When I was in Grade 8, my best friend Terri asked me if I wanted to join a folk singing group with her and Stan (I think Stan had a crush on her). I said I did and thus began the singing group “Stan and His Girls.” I remember going to Stan’s parents’ house to practice once and sometimes to Terri’s house. Then there was the time we went hiking along 20 Mile Creek with Stan and his guitar. We sang folk songs together, but we never got beyond the practicing. High school started and we sort of lost touch with each other. I was very sorry to hear of Stan’s death but glad he found happiness pursuing his singing.
