Bucket Nut

On a lighter note, Bucket Nut by Liza Cody (Doubleday) was recommended to me by a fellow mystery buff who dropped by the office the other day. I like Liza Cody's mysteries anyway, but Bucket Nut is by far the most outrageous I've read. The resourceful sleuth in this story is a female wrestler—the "London Lassassin"—who lives in a junkyard and makes extra money as a security guard. She travels around London not by bus or cab, but by stealing the nearest car, driving it to her destination and abandoning it. She has been given the nickname "Bucket Nut" by wrestling fans who think she has a face like a bucket. Our heroine's colourful language and offbeat point of view, as well as her insights into the weird world of wrestling, make this a wild read.
