Christmas in March: when books feel like presents

Findings section of Geist magazine.

As we passed around pages photocopied from recently published books or read a poem aloud or held up a photo for the others to see, we asked questions like "who's that by?" or "where's this from?" and made comments like "this is really great" or "I really like this one," I started to feel something that can only be described as lighthearted.

Yes, I was in a meeting and I was feeling lighthearted.

It felt like Christmas. Only all the presents were books—good books (at least in our opinion) and someone had picked out the best parts just for us.
