Super Geek Girl

I never expected to find two new zines about geeky gay girls. Sarah Dermer, author of the Toronto zine True Confessions of a Big Geek, should really get together with Joy, who publishes Super Geek Girl in Portland. Both are self-confessed gay geeks, shattering the current image of the super-cool lesbian. In True Confessions, Sarah and her friends discuss what makes them geeky, from orthopedic shoes to a love of Canadian-made television. Super Geek Girl is mostly a collection of lo-fi cartoons documenting Joy’s lack of co-ordination and inability to find a girlfriend.
